Backtagging โ€“ Somewhat thread-dependent but usually will backtag forever.
Threadhopping โ€“ Send a PM first, but usually itโ€™ll be fine if all players agree.
Fourthwalling โ€“ Only if the thread already permits it.
Offensive subjects (elaborate) - No hard noโ€™s; just keep it tactful.
Kinks โ€“ Find the k-list is here. Note, this is the playerโ€™s k-list; Gohanโ€™s kinks are interpreted via his character. Ask if youโ€™re unsure.

๐“˜๐“’ ๐“Ÿ๐“ฎ๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ฒ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ฒ๐“ธ๐“ท๐“ผ
Hugging โ€“ Gohanโ€™s relatively physical with people he knows. Giving him a one-armed hug or a quick two-armed wrap will usually get the same in response and heโ€™s comfortable with a reassuring hand on his shoulder. These, however, are reserved almost exclusively for family and close friends. If someone he doesnโ€™t know jumps on him or glomps him, heโ€™s going to flail awkwardly or tense up and sputter wonderful questions about whatโ€™s going on. If he feels endangered, however, or doesnโ€™t like the person hugging him, heโ€™s going to knock them off, so take some caution if heโ€™s on negative CR with your character. Other social touches, like high fives or fist bumps, even a playful shoulder-to-shoulder nudge will get a blink and confusion. The boy doesnโ€™t know what those are for unless someone explains it to him. During sex, however, feel free to hug him and cling all over him because his Saiyan instincts definitely channel towards the hot and passionate and he likes the contact.

Kissing โ€“ Youโ€™re welcome to try, but wow will he be shocked and flustered. Itโ€™s arguable whether Gohan even knows what a kiss is, considering his father and mother do the action so very rarely and he was brought up in a sequestered, innocent life. Case in point, he might think youโ€™re trying to give him mouth to mouth or something! But once or if he does know what kissing is, heโ€™ll once again see it as something reserved only for family or close friends. Definitely not something strangers do or something to be done in public. If youโ€™re on good terms with him, kissing him is going to get a very red face and some of that fabulous sputtering again. Like hugging, however, if youโ€™re not on good CR with him, this is a great way to earn a stiff-arm shove to the chest or shoulder. During sex, however, feel free to kiss the hell out of him; heโ€™ll return it with some very passionate ones in return, and maybe even reach the hot and wet stage.

Flirting โ€“ Gohan has no idea what this even is. Comment that you think his hairโ€™s cool, and heโ€™ll do that โ€œeh-heh, okayโ€ kind of response. Comment on his martial arts or his strength, and heโ€™ll be happy to compliment his father and mentor for helping him achieve them. Try anything beyond those two, and heโ€™s going to look at you weird. Heโ€™s rather innocent and naรฏve towards intimate implications like this and definitely wonโ€™t get anything thrown at him. If he does get the idea youโ€™re trying something, heโ€™s going to get awkward and try to either change the subject or bail. Good relationships may be able to eventually encourage some kind of flirting, though heโ€™ll be pathetic at it for the most part; bad relationships are going to get a โ€œshut upโ€ or a silent glare and a walk away. During sex, however, feel free to flirt all over and dirty talk the heck out of him because itโ€™ll make his face a burning mess and his more primal, Saiyan instincts enjoy the rougher stuff.

Fighting โ€“ Good luck! Gohanโ€™s from Dragon Ball, that crazy shonen series where even some of the weakest cast members can blow up a planet with minimum effort. Gohan himself is not an aggressive person by nature; heโ€™s actually an intense pacifist and will try to avoid fighting if at all possible. However, if pushed into a corner or forced, he will fight with all his strength to protect those he loves and heโ€™s not above taking revenge for wrongs done to his friends. Internally, he really does enjoy fighting for sport and a good battle will get his Saiyan blood excited for the challenge. Heโ€™s also perfectly happy to spar with friends or other challengers, though heโ€™ll do his best to hold back his true power if the strength gap is too wide. That said, if you want to fight with him, feel free to take him on! PM first if you want to work out or discuss details. You can find a summarized list of Gohanโ€™s basic attributes in his journal, and his wiki page gives a detailed overview of his power and his abilities. As a side note, he is susceptible to mystical and mental assaults, so those can definitely cause him some trouble.

Injuring โ€“ Again, good luck! Youโ€™re going to have to either be amazingly strong to deal any damage to him or catch him off guard something quick if you want to get an injury on the boy. Gohan has some intense durability and endurance due to his power and heritage and is capable of withstanding and struggling through a lot of pain and injury before falling. That said, heโ€™s not invulnerable and once heโ€™s injured, itโ€™s not going to magically go away. He does have a mixture of medical skill and survival know how, so heโ€™ll be able to at least address his wounds if heโ€™s alone. That said, if you want to injure him, feel free to send a PM and we can work out the severity of his injuries and how it can happen. You can find a summarized list of Gohanโ€™s basic attributes in his journal, and his wiki page gives a detailed overview of his power and his abilities. As a side note, harming him through mystical or mental attacks can definitely bypass his normal durability and endurance.

Killing โ€“ If the previous two didnโ€™t put emphasis on this, then hereโ€™s a third one. Gohan has actually died once before in the series; the planet blew up while he was unconscious. He was later revived from the dead by the Dragon Balls, so he actually didnโ€™t stay dead very long. But that still goes to show the sheer scope of power needed to kill him. The above two details on fighting him and injuring him contain the details on killing him. Unless a thread specifically calls for his death and we work it out ahead of time, itโ€™s highly unlikely heโ€™s going to get killed out there. Send a PM first if you want to indulge in this! Like an โ€œafterlifeโ€ thread or somethingโ€ฆ

Mind Reading โ€“ Telepathy is a thing in the Dragon Ball world, though itโ€™s mostly reserved for mystical beings and deities. Gohanโ€™s father, Goku, used it twice on his own, but admitted to it being difficult. Gohan himself has a mental connection with his mentor, Piccolo, and can talk with him and receive messages through telepathy, though other than that, heโ€™s not shown to make much use of the skill. If you want to read his mind, he has little way to stop it so feel free to jump in there and poke around! If you ask permission first and he accepts, thatโ€™s all cool, but if you do it without his permission and he finds out, heโ€™s either going to be really embarrassed and awkward or heโ€™s not going to be very happy about it and may even attempt to physically stop the probing. What youโ€™ll find in there isโ€ฆ A LOT OF STUFF. From a happy child hood to some major trauma to a hell of a lot of fighting and training and go read the plot of Dragon Ball Z to get an idea of his memories.

Sex โ€“ Gohan grew up a very sheltered life, living by the mountains with his family, going on adventures and battling alongside his friends, and hanging around aliens. He never really had much interaction with โ€œnormalโ€ society until high school, so heโ€™s not really experienced in any sort of sexual concepts. He was too young to notice it when his father was with his mother and then went through his teenage years after his father passed away (and chose to stay dead). Sex with others, as far as heโ€™s knows, is something you do for procreation and thatโ€™s about it.

Still, heโ€™s a teenage boy and heโ€™s experimented with himself, mostly jerking off, fingering himself, giving himself blowjobs, and occasionally using some household item as an impromptu dildo. Gohan doesnโ€™t really have anyone around to do anything with, but now that heโ€™s starting high school, heโ€™s begun to notice and explore things. Just donโ€™t expect him to be experienced, since heโ€™s still really naรฏve about sex. It might take a bit to convince him to do anything sexual with someone else, but heโ€™ll be quick to realize how enjoyable it is once he does get past the awkward first steps.

Warnings โ€“ None really. Gohanโ€™s a gentle heart and uses his strength to protect. However, if you attack his family or friends, heโ€™s not going to hold back on stopping it.

Aliens โ€“ Gohan's world is inhabited by aliens and anthropomorphic creatures as well as humans. His father's a Saiyan, his mentor/father-figure is a Namekian, his main enemies are aliens/androids/monsters, and he's half Saiyan himself. That said, Gohan has no problem bonding with other species and races. Interspecies and interracial relationships can definitely happen with him and he won't have much of an issue getting intimate with alien species or anthropomorphic creatures once sex happens.

Incest โ€“ Due to his Saiyan blood and his relatively sheltered upbringing, Gohan doesn't always ascribe to certain cultural norms or sexual expectations and his innocence and/or naivety can sometimes result in him being willing to experiment sexually. He may not immediately realize certain things could be seen as wrong or taboo, including incestual relationships, so this can definitely happen with him. Because of his Saiyan blood's more primal side, sex is often more about companionship and relationship than who or what the other person is.

ABILITIES
Gohan comes from the Dragon Ball franchise, famous for being often-considered the originator of shonen manga and possessing characters with improbable levels of power and skill. Listing Gohanโ€™s abilities would be quite time consuming, so below is a short summary of his general skills. For more information about his abilities, Gohan's fandom wiki page gives detailed overviews of his power and his skills.

Energy Manipulation -- In Dragon Ball, "energy" is embodied in the idea of ki. Ki (ๆฐ— "Kee", lit. "Spirit"), also known as chi/qi, Yลki (ๅฆ–ๆฐ—)[1] or simply energy (ใ‚จใƒใƒซใ‚ฎใƒผ enerugฤซ), is the life force energy used by the series' characters. Gohan has a natural affinity for controlling Ki energy, allowing him to generate very powerful energy blasts even at a young age. Like many characters in the series, Gohan completely outclasses average Saiyan warriors, who can produce energy blasts powerful enough to completely wipe out a big city to easily destroying entire planets with just one blast. Ki can be depleted through use, however, and Gohan can use up his ki depending on the intensity of his combat or it can be drained from him via techniques or technology, leaving him exhausted and unable to perform ki-based techniques. What energy and stamina he loses during a battle can be completely restored, and in some cases, multiplied, after he has a short period of rest.

Flight -- In Dragon Ball, flight is a skill obtained by manipulating ki energy so that the user can levitate or fly. Because of this, anyone with sufficient power and the proper training can learn the ability. Due to his natural ability to control his energy, Gohan possess the innate ability to fly at hypersonic speeds with little to no effort at all. Due to his superior Ki control, heโ€™s able to fly much faster than normal humans and improve the technique in shorter periods of time. This flight also includes the ability to hover in the air with unconscious effort, though if drained of his ki, heโ€™ll be temporarily unable to take flight. He explains flight at one point in the series, describing it as putting his ki underneath him and then forcing it down, similar to an engine or helicopter pushing air down to rise from the ground. Provided the student can understand and adapt to the usage of ki, Gohan is able to teach anyone how to fly if they desire, though most human flyers (without years of training) are unable to reach and/or handle the speed and dexterity of flight Gohan and his friends are capable of utilizing.

Strength -- Probably the second-most-famous ability beyond energy manipulation, Gohan naturally possess vast superhuman strength, far greater than that of Earthlings and other alien races in his series, and is quintessentially physically built for fighting. At his lowest levels, Gohan is capable of effortlessly lifting ten times his own weight (such as a normal-sized vehicle and large boulders), and due in part to his Saiyan heritageโ€™s insane levels of physical power, is easily able to destroy mountains, islands, and potentially entire planets just with pure physical strength, especially in his Super Saiyan states. His strength augments his fighting prowess immensely, allowing him to shatter boulders and even the hardest of Earth metals with minimal effort. Brief periods of raising his power and some transformations can temporarily bulk up his muscles even further, increasing his physical abilities for a time before receding to normal size. Despite his great strength, however, Gohan's personality sees him being completely unwilling to use his strength to this end unless pushed with no other choice.

Speed and Agility -- Gohan also possess tremendous levels of superhuman speed, easily capable of breaking the sound barrier with his basic moves. He has much faster reflexes than an average human, possessing such reactions, he is not only able to avoid a bullet without any trouble at all, but can even catch them with no harm. This superhuman speed also makes its way into his fighting skills; his movements occur in fractions of seconds which are not visible to average human eyes, and even "super" humans in the series have trouble following Gohanโ€™s speed. Gohanโ€™s agility is also substantial in his battles and training; he can effortlessly (and even accidentally) perform immensely high jumps or acrobatics far more advanced than those of normal human beings, with no drawback or strain on his bodies. Additionally, his bodyโ€™s peak condition and his training permit very flexible movements, capable of full splits and backbends with no sign of discomfort. These movements can be improved by training, transformations, and other methods. These natural powers of speed and reflex make nearly all Gohanโ€™s hand-to-hand combat improbably fast and heโ€™s been shown to effortlessly move faster than the speed of light and sound.

Zenkai -- Like all Saiyans, Gohan is able to reach new levels of power through tough training. The more intense the training and fights he goes through, the stronger he becomes. However, the hallmark trait of a Saiyan is the Zenkai boost. This occurs when a Saiyan survives a near-death experience through extreme injury to his or her body; then, when their body recuperates, the Saiyan grows much stronger than they were previously, their body adapting to compensate for the damage dealt, essentially evolving their power the more they fight. Due to being the first Saiyan-human half-breed, Gohan has been said to possess unlimited hidden potential when it comes to his strength increasing.

Durability and Endurance -- Gohan possesses enormous amounts of superhuman durability, and it can be extremely difficult for him to be physically broken. Even as a child, Gohan was capable of taking on bullets, explosions, and sharpened objects, only to come out relatively unharmed. Not that he enjoyed it, but as a child, he was able to endure and survive several cases of extreme head-trauma and blunt forces. As an adult, Gohan possess immense levels of resistance to nearly all harm; in the series, no Earthling-made weapon could do damage to him or his friends, and even most alien weapons failed to faze him. His father was proven so tough, basic nuclear blasts and city-leveling explosions failed to impact him in any meaningful way; it required the use of a planet-destroying bomb to bring a threat.

Later in the series, it was proven the detonation of a planet is capable of killing Gohan and his friends, but this was only the case while they were unconscious and could not attempt to defend against it. However, even while unconscious and in his base form, Gohan is capable of surviving re-atmospheric reentries with no negative effect to his body, though the impact afterwards wasnโ€™t comfortable. At his peak, Gohanโ€™s durability and strength increases massively, becoming tough enough to easily survive powerful energy beams, even to his face, with no visible harm or scratch, and take most blunt forces against large amount of rock or solid matter with no discomfort.

However, Gohan isnโ€™t invincible, and substantially powerful forces and enemies can overcome his basic durability. Still, like all Saiyans, Gohan not only also appear able to heal from injuries at a faster rate than normal human beings, but he also has an extremely high tolerance to physical pain, and will only succumb to massive injuries, such as multiple bones being broken, impalements, and essentially being beaten up past his ability to defend again. Again, due to his half-breed nature, Gohan possess a remarkable immune system, making it very hard for him to become sick from โ€œnormalโ€ illnesses. If caught off guard or when not focused on actively guarding, Gohan can become vulnerable, enough that bullets can scratch him and certain energy beams can pierce him, basically becoming as vulnerable and taking as much damage as a โ€œsuperโ€ human would.

Intelligence -- Gohan has a very keen intellect in both academics and martial arts due to his studies as a child and his training during his life. While heโ€™s definitely considered to be comparable to intelligence in humans, due to his sheltered upbringing, heโ€™s not very well adjusted to certain social norms and can become flustered easily. Similarly, he does not have the same, detailed understanding or acceptance of certain social norms either. He has been proven to be a cunning and strategic fighter even if outclassed in strength, and due in part to a byproduct of the Saiyanโ€™s speed and reflexes, he is an abnormally quick learner, able to process large amounts of information within a limited amount of time. This can lend itself to replicating new techniques after seeing them only once or a few times, picking up new academic or scholarly topics, and adapting to new technology if necessary, though the latter two tend to require more time and effort to keep him focused. Similarly, he has a very good memory, capable of recalling past events and lessons to the point of being able to engage in mental battle simulations and training lessons.

Appetite -- Often used to comedic effect, but no less prevalent, Gohan takes after normal Saiyan appetites, capable of and willing to chow down 30-40 times more food than humans to maintain his metabolism. Though not as bad about it as his father, Gohan can share the same ravenous and seemingly-insatiable appetite for food, however, he normally goes about it with some sense of decency, using chopsticks and utensils off plates rather than grabbing and cramming with his hands. Due to their enormous strength and intense aura, a Saiyanโ€™s energy and nutritional intake requirements are a great deal higher than Earthlings and they are often shown eating more food than the average person could feasibly consume. Their physical anatomy also requires a much higher metabolism than Earthlings, allowing them to consume mass quantities of food while still maintaining their muscular physique and also ensuring they do not suffer from cramps that an Earthling would after eating so much, enabling them to eat large quantities of food immediate before a big fight.

Senses - Saiyans have a very keen sense of smell, with some points claiming their ability in this area is similar to that of a dog's and is thus far superior to that of a human's. They can recognize an individualโ€™s scent and can track and locate people or objects via their unique smell, though this can sometimes be used against them with very strong aromas. Saiyans also have a powerful sense of touch and hearing. They are very alert to vibrations through the ground and shifts in the air, enabling them to instinctively react to incoming danger from these subtle signals. This allows them to easily fight their opponents in absolute darkness or even when blinded. Finally, Saiyans also appear to have keen eyesight, able to make things out clearly at a distance and visually keep up with items or people moving a super-or-hypersonic speed, top the point of being referred to as possessing โ€œsuper visionโ€ or the like. As a half-breed, Gohan likewise possesses these enhanced senses, which work in effective tandem with his reflexes and reactions, though he often doesnโ€™t make obvious references to using them.

Fighting -- Gohan, like the majority of his series' cast, is an extremely accomplished martial artist. He's been trained by the Namekian warrior, Piccolo, the "super" human Earthling, Krillin, and by his own father, the Saiyan warrior, Goku. His martial arts and fighting style incorporates all his mentors' lessons, and he develops his own style from there. This is another facet of his Saiyan blood. Saiyans have an inborn need to fight and most will spend their lives training to become stronger so that they can prove themselves in battle. Because of this primal need, Saiyans are frequently seen training and improving their fighting skills to keep up with each other's skills and the appearance of new, more powerful foes. However, as a Saiyan/Human hybrid, Gohan possesses extreme fighting potential, but lacks the inborn drive to fight and improve himself. As a pacifist, he requires reminders to continue his training, but will fight to the best of his abilities to protect what is important to him. His innate aptitude at battle, however, does not fade and even extended periods of no training can be rectified with a few days of intense workouts, until heโ€™s caught up and surpassed where he had been before. Having the bloodline of a natural-born race of warriors, Gohanโ€™s fighting skills are shown to be very resilient and adaptive. As he battles, his mind and body continue to adapt and improve from the experience, instinctively learn from his mistakes, and become more accustomed to the adversity before him.
greatestpotential: (Fight you? No. I wanna kill you!)
Personality
As a child, Gohan is a shy and studious intellectual child who lacks the Saiyan fighting spirit, so he had to utilize his incredible half-breed Saiyan potential and emotional reserves to protect those he loves, becoming one of the most powerful Z Fighters. As an young adult, he begins to achieves his dream career of becoming a great scholar through attending high school.

Being only half-Saiyan, Gohan is unusual in his values and personality compared to most full-Saiyans. These unique values and personality separate him from pure Saiyans; as powerful as he is, he does not like fighting much. However, when he is forced to fight, he shows special interest in protecting his family and friends. Like his father, Gohan has a truly pure and gentle heart, as well as having the typical Saiyan appetite, to the point where itโ€™s said heโ€™ll almost eat anything.

Though he claims he does not share the same love of fighting Goku has, Gohan does indeed love martial arts and adventures. It is also clearly obvious that he enjoys his superhuman powers, and he greatly enjoys using them to be a superhero, though he dislikes receiving the fame and attention that comes with it and prefers to keep a low profile. Because of this, he created the Great Saiyaman persona, in order to keep his identity a secret. This is even more evident when he didn't acknowledge Cell's defeat at his hands to the public after Mr. Satan falsely took credibility for it.

During the Zen Exhibition Match, he admitted that his Saiyan half was getting excited from the challenge shown by Toppo of Universe 11, demonstrating that even though he despises senseless violence, he actually does enjoy fighting as a sport. It is possible that he prefers not to fight due to the many gruesome and painful fights he experienced in the past; these battles have given Gohan negative emotions associated with fighting and pits him in internal struggles between his Saiyan love for battle and his human desire for peace.

However, even though he is naturally smart, humble and kind, Gohan himself has been a victim of his own power in the past. Whenever Gohan gets a gigantic power boost, he becomes arrogant and cocky, essentially becoming drunk in his power, often acknowledging and even enjoying his superiority over his opponents, sometimes to the point of mocking his opponent or becoming excessively brutal in revenge. This occurred when he first became a Super Saiyan 2 against Cell, and later in his life when he achieved his Ultimate form and fought Super Buu. Gohan gave all that he had as he fought these two enemies and was eager to both torture Cell and kill Buu, the former for tormenting him and his family and friends, and the latter for murdering everyone close to him.

This fatal flaw of his warrior-personality might be an actual side-effect of his Saiyan heritage, since Saiyans such as Vegeta, or Nappa, have been known to act similarly when drunk in their own power while fighting. This has led him to the brink of defeat on several occasions, and he later had to deal with the consequences of his actions, including as the death of his father at the hands of Cell and his own absorption by Super Buu, endangering the entire universe in the process. However, thanks to Piccolo, Gohan works on overcoming this flaw of his and strives to not let his own superior power blind him in the battlefield.

Besides concerning himself with his family (and his studies), Gohan has a strong attachment with his mentor: his father's former archrival Piccolo. After the death of Goku, Piccolo chose to train Gohan as he sensed the boy's potential power, which would be harnessed to help defend the Earth from the attack of the Saiyans. At first, the relationship with Piccolo is a frightening one, but after just one year, Piccolo admits his change because of the friendship he develops with Gohan and even sacrifices himself to save the boy. Because of this, Piccolo can be considered as a surrogate father for Gohan.

Krillin also has influence on Gohan, as almost an uncle/nephew relationship, mainly because Krillin is Goku's closest friend. While Gohan does care about his mother, he, like his father, fears her temper to the point of informing his mother that Goku planned to leave to train under Whis, stating that he had to tell her for his own safety. However, Gohan will defy his mother if he realizes his goals and duties are more important to him than her desires; one instance he even tells his mother off after she refuses to let him go to Namek to revive Piccolo using the Namekian Dragon Balls, due to feeling responsible for Piccolo's death at the hands of Nappa.

Gohan has an on-and-off focus and resolve on his training due to his pacifistic nature. He has given up his training in times of peace, but resumes them again for different reasons, such at the behest of his little brother and at realizes that he must get much stronger in order to protect the people he loves.

Itโ€™s been stated by many that Gohan's power is truly bottomless and that he can continue to further strengthen himself to new heights. However, despite the new awakenings and reawakenings of his power, Piccolo points out his tendency to become arrogant and let his guard down could prove disastrous during fights, so Piccolo tries to discipline Gohan in order to break this dangerous habit.

Still, with his newfound power, fighting instincts, and keeping his keen intellect, Gohan has been at different times the strongest warrior in the series and the leader of his family and friends during tournaments. Goku even states that Gohan's power is similar to his own and his intelligence makes him ideal for these roles. Similarly, Gohan has made some peace with his half-breed desires and has also expressed his wish to surpass his father by his own terms and methods, choosing to focus on empowering his natural and unamplified power rather than depending completely on form transformations.
greatestpotential: (Never back down!)
Gohan (ๅญซๆ‚Ÿ้ฃฏ Son Gohan) is the elder son of the Dragon Ball series' primary protagonist, Goku, and his wife, Chi-Chi, and the older brother of Goten. Gohan is a hybrid between a Saiyan, a warrior-like alien race, and a human-type Earthling, making him the first half-breed (half-Saiyan, half-Earthling) to appear in the series. Unlike his father, Gohan lacks a passion for fighting and prefers to do so only when the need to defend his loved ones arises. Nevertheless, Gohan fights alongside the Z Fighters in the defense of Earth for much of his life and has proven to be one of the most powerful characters within the franchise.

Canon Point: Gohan's appearance changes drastically throughout the Dragon Ball Z series, given that the series starts out with him as a child and ends when he is a young adult. This version of Gohan is taken from the mid-point of the Majin Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z, the last arc of the original show, and thus before the events of Dragon Ball Super. Specifically, he is pulled from after he unlocks his ultimate potential in the Sacred World of the Kais, but before the defeat of Majin Buu.

Physical Appearance
Gohan is a teenage half-breed between a Saiyan father and Human mother. Like normal Saiyans, Gohan has black hair and black eyes with sloped-but-angled eyebrows. When he transforms into a Super Saiyan, however, his hair turns a golden shade of blonde and his eyes become a blue-green color. He wears his hair short in a style consisting of several semi-thick spikes standing on end and a single spike-of-a-bang falling over the side of his forehead, reaching just below eye level. He wears his hair kept close cut above his neckline in the back and has small, horizontal sideburns above his ears. He has his father's facial features, a mixture of hard lines but softer eyes, and possesses a light peach complexion just a few shades lighter than his fatherโ€™s skin. Like his father, Goku, Gohan is often considered quite handsome by those around him, though neither of them tend to realize it.

He is a tall young man, just an inch shy of six feet, and like most Saiyans (and most people in general in his fandom), has a very muscular, developed build and a powerful body. Common for a warrior, though, Gohan still has a relatively lean and athletic appearance, capable of flexible motions and speedy, agile feats despite the strength of his well-built physique. He possesses broad shoulders, a V-shaped torso, and a narrow waist, and has greater depth to his chest, neck, shoulders, and thighs. His arms and legs sport noticeably-defined muscles even while resting, and his torso is sculpted from his many years of training.

Clothing
Gohan favors two main fighting gi (martial arts outfit).

His first is similar to his fatherโ€™s, Goku, consisting of a sleeveless orange shirt worn over a dark blue short-sleeved undershirt and a pair of loose, orange martial arts pants held up by a dark blue sash about his waist. Gohanโ€™s overshirt has a very wide neckline (almost reaching the ends of his collarbones) and cut in a deep V in the front, descending almost to the middle of his stomach; his undershirtโ€™s neckline; while not as wide or deep cut as the over, still exposes his neck, collar, and much of his upper chest. He wears blue armbands over his wrists and caps the entire outfit with dark blue boots bearing a red border around the base, a red line up the middle, and laced with tan, rope-like laces.

His second is similar to his mentorโ€™s, Piccolo, consisting of a sleeveless, dark purple-blue shirt but without an undershirt, preferring to go bare-chested underneath, and a pair of loose, purple-blue martial arts pants held up by a red obi, knotted at the side. This outfitโ€™s overshirt also has a very wide neckline, reaching the ends of his collarbones and being low-cut with a deep V down the front, exposing almost all of his chest and his upper abdominal muscles. He wears red wrist bands on his arms and instead of boots, prefers wearing black and white martial arts shoes beneath cloth-covered shin guards.

When not in his fighting gi, Gohan has an assorted wardrobe, consisting of anything from his school uniform (white shirt, black vest, brown pants, and sneakers) to casual wear (button-down shirts, open-neck tees, sweaters, and jeans) to formal wear (a suit and tie with dress pants, jackets, and shoes).

Etymology
Gohan is named after Goku's adoptive grandfather, Gohan. The name "Gohan" is a homophone for gohan (ๅพก้ฃฏ), the Japanese word for "cooked rice" which also refers to meals in general, which continues the Dragon Ball creator's food naming pun diagram. In Mandarin, the reading of ๆ‚Ÿ้ฃฏ is homophone for ๅˆ้ฃฏ (wว”fร n), meaning "lunch".
